Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology was established by Sultan Ul Uloom Education Society in 1980. It is one of the first private engineering colleges in Hyderabad. It is affiliated to Osmania University and Approved by AICTE. It was accredited by NBA (National Board Of accreditation in 2002 for five years. The College offers four year B.E. degree courses in 8 Engineering branches and Masters in five fields with an intake of 912 in the first year. There are about 4000 student studying in MJCET in various engineering branches namely, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Production Engineering and five post graduate courses - M.E(Power Electronics Systems), M.E(CAD/CAM), M.E. (Digital Systems), M.E( Structural Engineering), M.E.(CSE) of two years duration and MCA of three year duration. 

     MJCET is proud to have the best faculty among all the colleges in twin cities. It has 30 members with Ph.D qualification and 139 faculty with Post graduate degrees out of which over 100 faculty members are having experience of over 5 years. All the departments of MJCET are equipped with the latest state of equipment with a substantial part of yearly budget allocated for new purchases. There are about 850 computers connected with 8 MBPS dedicated Internet leased line. The digital library facility provided access to over 2000 international Journals and conference publications. A large number of faculty members are actively pursuing research and Every year the faculty and students publish more than 100 papers in international and national Journals and Conferences. A research center in ECE Department wherein students pursuing Ph.D can work has been established.

  Over the years, MJCET has consistently maintained its position in the top 75 government and private engineering colleges of India. It is currently ranked at 57th Position, according to survey conducted by Outlook Express magazine. It is proud to be the considered as the best minority college in Andhra Pradesh. Students securing best of EAMCET ranks vie to get a seat in MJCET. Guided by dedicated faculty members, the students of the college fare extremely well in their academics and it is reflected in the large number of University Ranks and gold medals the students win every year. In every branch at least 30% of university ranks are backed by students of MJCET.

    The students of MJCET enjoy good placements wherein they get job offers in the final year of engineering itself. Last year, about 550 offer letters were received by students from IT Giants like Infosys, Accenture and Wipro and many more. A good number of students secured offer letters from all three companies. There are over 20,000 students who graduated in last 32 years and are well placed in prestigious positions across the globe. The MJCET alumni association is one of the most active association in twin cities which conducts regular Alumni Meets, Graduation Day, Training programs, workshops and seminars.

    The college aims at providing all round development. The students of college are involved in various extracurricular and co curricular activities. There are associated with chapters of various Professional student organizations like IEEE, IETE, SAE, Robotics Club, EWB, E Cell, Orators Club and many more. The college is equipped with a gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Cricket and Football Grounds and facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The college team has won many laurels at the university and state level.
