
Established
in year 1997, the
department of Electrical Engineering has two programs administered by
it viz. Electrical Engineering and Electronics &
Instrumentation
Engineering. It also offers a Post Graduate course, M.E. in Power
Electronics Systems. The department of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering
(EEE) is equiped with 13 state of the art laboratories, departmenal
library, a seminar hall and classrooms with modern teaching
aids. The
department has highly qualified and experienced staff comprising of 3
proffesors, 5 Associate Professors, 18 Assistant Professors and 12
technical staff. The faculty has vast industrial experience and is
actively involved in R&D and consultancy. This department has
been
proving its mettle in the field of academics
since its inception by getting a consistent record of 90% and being the
best amongst the 6 affiliated colleges of Osmania University. Apart from excelling in academics, the Electrical
department students
prove their caliber and spirit in extracurricular activities. They have
been participating in various activities and have brought many prizes
and accolades to the college. The department has
12 states of art laboratories for conducting experiments.
The faculties have published research papers in both
National and International Journals and Conferences. The department has
been organizing workshops and technical fests like Adsophos and Refulgence. The
department has active student chapters of IEEE(PES) and
Institution of Engineers India. The alumni of the department are either
pursuing Masters/PhD in IISc,IIT and universities of repute abroad or
are working in organizations like GE, Siemens, ERCOT, Google, IBM,
Accenture etc.
'Electrovision’'
is an
annual departmental newsletter published by us. A student chapter, Instruments
Society of America
(ISA)was
established in the year 2002-03 and
has around 200 members. We also have a technical student chapter of
Institution Of Engineers India (IEI)
which
was
started in the year 2007-08 and has 300 members till date.
The
department has also conducted a national level workshop on Power
Quality in 2011 and a workshop on Embedded
Systems in 2012. Our department has
10 R&D projects sponsored by the R&D Cell of MJCET as
of
now. |
